For several customers the problems with the defective displays in the Resurrection Series I and II have been solved. For the Resurrection II there is a complete new PCB, based upon the green OLED display used in the Revelation Series. Even a new frontplate with golden lettering is created, to match the original display as good as possible. For the Resurrection I there is also a new display available which is now in test. This news item is not intended for Revelation Series, only for Resurrection series !

On the left the new Resurrection I display (type LCDRSI-T2) using the original front plate, on the right the new Resurection II display (type LCDRSII-T2) with the new front plate (the text is now only below the display instead of the original display above and below).

Phoenix Chess Systems will deliver the requested firmware upgrade during september 2010. As every upgrade is custom built, this has to be done with the needed care. Please take care that you inform Phoenix Chess Systems with all the needed information. This includes the type of series (Resurrection II, Revelation Board or Revelation Module Set) and for the Resurrection II the type of display. And off course the current firmware version x.xx. Some customers have upgraded the original display to the better display which resides in the Revelation Board and Revelation Module Set. The newer display (type LCDRSII-T2) for the Resurrection II has the text "Active Graphic Display Module" beneath the display, the original (type LCDRSII-T1) has this text above the display. This newer display has the sharper Oled display, which also has 16 grey scales, in which the chess board is displayed with black and white field in the background. The original Resurrection II display only has one grey scale, and displays only the pieces, but no board.
