Introduction

Phoenix Chess Systems is a small company which was founded in oktober 2009 by Ruud Martin living in the Netherlands. He was inspired around 6 years ago by the beauty of chess computer systems. During the past years he worked on new ideas, new concepts and new techniques to build chess computer systems. This resulted in a Resurrection Module Set Prototype usable in existing Mephisto chess boards. In 2008 the Revelation concept was tested and during 2008 the concept proved its stability and quality. Again, in 2009, he made the Revelation concept available to the public. Both in a Module system as in the complete Revelation chess board concept.

The systems are openly recognised as the strongest chess systems in the world with SSDF ratings between 2400 ELO unto a staggering 2700 ELO !

My Mission

To design, build and produce the finest, strongest and most desirable Chess Systems in the world.
And to reach these goals I create these fine machines in great co-operation with the project members all over the world.

Which resulted for 2009 in the founding of a real company : PhoenixCS.

Profile

I am Ruud Martin, ICT Projects Manager, Technical Engineer and Programmer and extremely focussed on reaching results. Furthermore I am a passionate chess player with an ELO of around 1400 (average club player).
With this unique combination of skills and my drive for perfection and results I can deliver the finest and most strongest Chess Systems in the world.

At this time I do not have any industrial association and therefore all my systems are completely built and produced by hand by a very small team who power Phoenix Chess Systems.

I have a select group of satisfied system users all over the world. Furthermore by participating with the Chess Systems in special Tournaments for Dedicated Systems it is proven that the systems are the best in the world. To be more precise, Resurrection and Revelation are #1 in several ELO listings for the last years.

Project Risk and Warranty

These chess systems are project based. All project members participate therefore in one of the projects. This means that you can suggest new features and ideas for the products as well as report bugs found during gameplay. During the project period you will receive around two updates per year in which new features will be integrated and where bugs are eliminated. All within the limits of my programming skills as well within my possibility to invest time in the products. 

Regarding the Revelation board, please remember that this board is made from wood and can contain small imperfections. As hard as we try to limit these imperfections it can happen that there are. If a board is delivered containing these imperfections we will inform you before delivery.

In this way becoming one of the project members for such a system will create a shared ‘risk’. You will carry some of it. But the Revelation hardware has proven that it is stable, as proven in the last two years in which none of the chess modules have been returned with technical problems.

About warranty :  If the hardware fails within 6 months I will replace it with new hardware at only the courier costs.  See also Conditions and Terms.
